Winter just arrived for most of you and already you're looking forward to the Spring season. For those of you that only step outside during the Winter season because it's absolutely necessary, the thought of Spring makes you want to start planning your days.

If you're still working on your New Year's resolution's as Spring approaches, you'll love the idea of adding new smoothie recipes to your menu. You're set on having your healthy drink morning and evening. You've got your veggies, fruit and nuts all organized between your fridge and your pantry. Have you ever considered adding herbs to your smoothies? Yes, herbs! You know the ones you use to season your cooked meals ... cilantro, rosemary, thyme, even lavender.

Cilantro, also known as Chinese parsley not only adds flavor to your foods, it's packed with health benefits as well. For one, it reduces the intake of sodium, then aids in helping alleviate inflammation. Cayenne, another herb helps stimulate blood flow and strengthens your heart, nerves, capillaries and arteries.

Here's a recipe for you that's got a nice kick.

Spicy Pineapple and Cilantro

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
3 cups frozen pineapples
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
3 shakes of ground cayenne pepper

Combine all of the ingredients except the coconut milk into blender. Blend until smooth. Add the coconut milk a little at a time so that you can determine the thickness.

Feeling tired and sluggish, try this:Rosemary Raspberry Smoothie

1 cup of raspberries, frozen
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup Greek yogurt or
1 sprig fresh rosemary, leaves pulled and chopped

Add to blender and have at it. Want it thicker, remove the milk and only use the yogurt.

You can find these herbs at your local grocery store. If you're like a lot of people these days, you might want to see how you take to growing your own herbs. You can grow them on your deck, patio or even stake out a plot of land and plant. The important thing is to mix and match in order to create smoothie blends that are good for your.
